The Offspring's Noodles Takes a Break Due to Health Concerns
Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, the iconic guitarist and founding member of The Offspring, has made the difficult decision to step back from live performances due to a serious health issue. In a statement shared via the band's official Instagram account on October 21, Noodles, 63, expressed his deep sadness over the situation. "It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performance for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue," he wrote. He reassured fans that the rest of the band is supportive and will continue to perform in his absence, stating, "The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence."
Noodles also conveyed his hope to return to the stage soon, saying, "I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it." The announcement has drawn an outpouring of support from fans and fellow musicians alike, including a heartfelt message from Simple Plan's Pierre Bouvier, who wrote, "Hope you’re OK brother. Sending love and positivity. You’re a legend…. You got this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."

Just days prior to his announcement, Noodles performed with The Offspring in San Diego on October 18. The band is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on October 24 and Las Vegas on November 6, followed by a show at the Corona Capital 2026 festival in Mexico City on November 21, before concluding their tour at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego 2027 festival in Los Angeles on January 16.
The Final Take
The Offspring, who formed in California in 1984, includes Noodles, frontman Dexter Holland, bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy, and drummer Brandon Pertzborn. They released their 11th studio album, Supercharged, in 2024. Reflecting on his long-standing partnership with Holland, Noodles previously shared, "I’ve always been really appreciative of his songwriting, and I love the time we spend in the studio, but then taking the songs out and playing them live for fans, that’s the greatest feeling in the world."
Their dynamic has been characterized by both camaraderie and occasional disagreements, as Noodles humorously noted, "No, we do have our disagreements and our arguments usually around stuff that has nothing to do with music. But ultimately we have a lot of mutual respect for each other and love for each other."
